
A U.Ok. nationwide is going through prices for allegedly hacking into 5 public corporations and stealing details about company earnings that helped him web about $3.75 million from inventory trades.
Robert Westbrook, 39, was arrested within the U.Ok. this week, in line with the Justice Division. The U.S. is in search of his extradition on prices of wire fraud, securities fraud and laptop fraud.
He’s accused of breaking into the businesses’ programs between January 2019 and August 2020 and stealing info forward of 14 totally different earnings bulletins.
He allegedly broke into the programs by resetting the passwords of Office365 electronic mail accounts owned by senior-level executives, in line with a corresponding civil filing by the Securities and Trade Fee (SEC).
